Music of the Carolinas: Alice Gerrard with Scott Manring and Cliff Hale

When: Sun., April 12, 3-4 p.m. 2015
Phone: 919-807-7900
Price: Free
The 80-year-old Alice Gerrard has been enjoying plenty of time in the sun over the past several months. Her September LP, Follow the Music, earned a Grammy nomination, and the combined roots-music star power of label Tompkins Square and producer MC Taylor (Hiss Golden Messenger) helped push it toward the top of many best-of lists last year. Local roots boosters PineCone present this free show as a part of its Music of the Carolina series; Gerrard’s fellow folk collaborators Scott Manring and Cliff Hale join for this easy afternoon of music. —Allison Hussey
