Muse, Metric | PNC Arena | Clubs & Concerts | Indy Week
This is a past event.
When: Tue., Oct. 26, 7:30 p.m. 2010
Price: $45-55

More than a year into a world tour supporting The Resistance—which included the opening slot for U2's date at Carter-Finley Stadium last October—the British trio Muse is finally performing in front of Americans in the kind of massive venues it's long been filling outside the states. After spending much of the past decade distancing itself from the large shadow and similar style of Radiohead, Muse has finally succeeded with its brand of apocalyptic arena rock—qualifiers alt, prog and orchestral apply at various points. Rip-off or not, Muse has always seemed destined for this. Opening act Metric finds Broken Social Scene contributor Emily Haines taking center stage with her breathy vocals, whether on beat-heavy electropop, guitar-centered indie rock or modern new-wave revivalism. —Spencer Griffith
