Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker

When: Wed., Dec. 22, 8 p.m. 2010
Price: $35-$78

Some countries excel at certain things. Russia has proven adept at producing literature, film and—so we hear—at drinking everyone else under the table. But you'd be remiss if you left ballet off that list. The Moscow Ballet pirouettes into town for one night only, during dancer Alexandra Elagina's first North American tour. Elagina will dance alongside Myung Kyu Kim (as the Nutcracker Prince) and Sae Eun Park. Earlier this year, Park won the gold medal at the International Ballet Competition. She has danced with the American Ballet Theater and is currently a principal dancer with the National Ballet of Korea. —Sarah Ewald
