Monk Parker, Joe Romeo, Anna Rose Beck, Anthony Neff

When: Mon., June 29, 8 p.m. 2015
Price: $7
In The Low Lows, Mangham “Monk” Parker spent a decade combining the sweet twang of classic country pedal steel with clanging elements more commonly found inside steel plants. His first post-breakup album, How the Spark Loves the Tinder, doesn’t abandon the formula, but it does blow up its scope with 30 musicians, including extended horn and string sections. That keeps ol’ Monk from too much solitude. —Jeff Klingman
