Re: “Durham: a gnome man's land?

While I think the idea of gnomes around Durham is a cute and funny idea, one of the gnomes in the pictures was stolen (along with about 11 others) one night from my front yard. I know it's mine because my child hand painted this one to look like a Christmas elf. It is infuriating to have someone steal from you, but worse when it's put right back in your face. While I know this story about gnomes is probably meant to be sarcastic at some level, I do know that the ones stolen from my yard had sentimental value to me because I had collected them, had some given to me by friends, etc. I would really like to get these back, but I'm sure it is a lost cause.
