Re: “City Council Calls on Durham to “Resist Bigotry,” Recommit to Inclusive Values Ahead of Jordan Peterson's DPAC Show

Professor Peterson has appeared and will be appearing all over America, and in Europe and Canada. https://jordanbpeterson.com/events/

The City Council's claim of inclusiveness rings so hollow that it hurts my ears.

It's embarrassing that Professor Peterson and Nederlander/PFM are beset by the Council.

Re: “The General Assembly Put Light Rail on Life Support, Then Revived It—But With Conditions That Could Ultimately Kill It

Actually the vote on the sales tax was for transportation but all we are getting is a development project with a choo choo down the center.

And absolutely nothing in Progressive Durham for the transit needy.

Re: “Democracy (and Light Rail) Dies in Darkness

It's clear that the Durham Chapel Hill Light Rail is gentrification on steroids. Pols like Schewel claim to be progressives while supporting projects for the elites like light rail and attacking Israel to curry favor with Duke students.

It's a mystery why people vote for pols like him, instead of their own interests and policies that actually help the less fortunate.

And Indy the same goes for your fake concern for the disadvantaged.

Re: “Is the General Assembly About to Kill Light Rail?

The Durham/Chapel Hill light Rail is a huge gentrification driver.

Progressives need to be honest that they really have low regard for affordable housing when it comes to their pet projects for the elite. This light rail scheme is especially appalling since it will prevent public transit funds from helping the transit needy.

Re: “As White Students Leave Traditional Public Schools in Orange County, Minorities Are Paying for Charter Schools That Don’t Serve Them

Edward Teach: INDY front page screams: WHITE FLIGHT. Yet it surprises you folks think they are being labeled racists?

The Indy could serve the community better by looking at solutions to school performance, esp in high poverty schools. I know that interact families correlate to better performance. Will the Indy promote intact families to help the poor?

Calling parents racists is a divisive canard. Let's swear if off on this Memorial Day when we honor those who have fallen in service to us and our nation.

Re: “Throughout North Carolina, Charter Schools Are Creating Racial Imbalances and Disrupting Public Education. One Durham Charter Wants to Be Part of the Solution.

Stop deriding the motives of educators, while you examine the unsuccessful outcomes of many of our schools, charter and district. It doesn't seem that anyone has found the silver bullet of policies for successful education for all.

Why does the Indy want to disparage those who try to improve education, our great social opportunity. I was going to write about the misleading statistics you cite, but then realized that it is the overall approach that renders your articles so toxic.

Hope to see you at Memorial Day Services tomorrow. Can we choose to work to together under the freedoms for which our loved ones made their sacrifices?

Re: “Joe Van Gogh Cuts Ties with Duke After Controversial Firing of Two Employees

I guess I know where to go if I want to hear smutty and offensive music with my java. Good luck.
