Re: “This Week Could Mark the End of the Web as We Know It

Maybe ex Commissioner Wheeler could explain why he was against net-neutrality until President Obama told him at the last minute to do the reverse.

There is not food-neutrality for grocery stores but we are able to eat each day.

Net Neutrality is all about GOVERNMENT control of the internet which is far, far worse than anything a private company might do.

Re: “Durham’s Public Housing Is Aging and Deteriorating. Is Partnering with Private Investors the Answer?

I am uncertain what the Mayor means when he says that affordable housing will help this issue. People with the incomes described here can never afford so-called affordable housing.

And by using land near the DOLRT for affordable housing, land values and tax revenues from very valuable property will be way below what is possible, all to gain votes.

It's a shame that local left-wing politics is more important than solving housing issues.

Re: “The Durham County Commission Asks the NCGA to Hold Off on Class-Size Reductions

Ha! The schools cry for smaller classes but its all a fraud. When they are told by the legislature to set up smaller classes , they rebel.

Then they side with the affluent parents for whom music and art is more important than learning to read. They ignore the needs of poor students and families completely.

Wouldn't you like to see for once the School Board or the BOCC act for needy students and not side with the unions and affluent parents.

Re: “For the Last Five Months, Pastor Jose Chicas Has Been Hiding from ICE Inside a Durham Religious Center

Is he actually a pastor? Is his sanctuary actually a church?

Re: “Will the Felony Charges Against Defend Durham Demonstrators Be Dropped?

Sounds like vigilantism to me. But at least it should take any supporter out of consideration for Steve Schewel's seat. Assuming there are some adults in the PA.

Oops, didn't the earlier version of this story name the supporters? Now that seems to have disappeared??

Re: “District Attorney: Felony Charges Remain Against Defend Durham Protesters

Could you write about some rational people occasionally??

And Pierce thinks he should be appointed to our City Council.

Hope there are some adults in the PA with courage. I regret to have to say Durham needs them.
