Re: “In the Valley of Elah

My book, "War News from The Ranch," is an anti-military-industrial complex novel/satire. Nobody in the publishing world will touch it, so I published it myself with iUniverse. It's available at Quail Ridge Books. Iraq, like Vietnam, is a war of lucrative government contracts. The real winners are those who get to play the game! It is to their advantage to drag the war on for as long as possible, hence, the steady progression of perceived bungling and multiple, changing justifications for the war by the Bush administration. The ultimate problem faced by the American public is that the military-industrial complex holds tremendous influence in nearly all sectors of government--with Republican and Democrat alike--and can't be "voted out" come election year. They are here to stay, and with raiding the federal treasury as their steadfast goal, we are bound to see additional, periodic military adventures that end in disaster in the future.
