That would be a lot of lying people, Jayson. Countless organizations, including all law schools in the state, spoke up against this law. Our side didn't have the deep pockets your side had - we were out-funded 6 to 1. I personally called many, many households and walked door to door to try to make sure folks knew what they were voting for. For those whose rights were actually at stake, we learn. For those voting about the rights of others, you should never be surprised when they don't need to learn as much. Very little skin in the game. But that's what you get when you write a law with no legal or public review in a midnight, closed session. "Stand down?" If you were the minority, instead of the majority, you'd know that wasn't an option. It's people's right to visit each other in hospitals, for kids and partners to have health care, to care and love each other. I wouldn't expect you to stand down if your kids or lifetime love's well being were on the table, and you shouldn't expect it of us.
