Re: “Why is Raleigh's City Council rezoning downtown before its downtown plan is finished?

Council members better hurry. All but three are gone next election. I predict an unprecedented turnout for local elections. Raleigh citizens are tired of the hemoraging of money. The city goes three steps forward and two back. Spending millions to implement plans then millions to correct or change the vision. Fayetteville Street Plaza is a perfect example. First vision was to close Fayetteville Street for pedestrian traffic only costing a few million then ten years later, ripping it out to go back to its original state, costing another few million. It's ridiculous. Change is a coming McCroy and City Council. You have our attention and we are watching you.

Re: “In four years, concerts at the North Carolina State Fair have lost almost $900,000. Who's responsible?

As a music coordinator, I am happy to see someone else taking notice of the entertainment scheduled at the state fair. I saw the lineup this year and just shook my head.

The NC State Fair already focuses on NC Products and NC Agriculture. It should also focus on and support Triangle (local ) and NC Regional Bands. Two well booked National Acts to open and to close the fair would be enough.

NC has exceptional world class musicians and bands. Supporting and featuring them at the State Fair would provide cultural exposure, and display NC Pride in our Arts. It would also offer a huge savings to the Dept. Of Agriculture.
