Michael Sulick

When: Thu., Dec. 6, 7:30 p.m. 2012

No, Spying in America isn't about people watching you through your webcams, though that's why I leave mine unplugged most of the time. Instead, it's a new book from veteran CIA director Michael Sulick about Americans who have betrayed their country over the centuries, ranging from Benedict Arnold and the Rosenbergs to lesser-known cases, such as how the CIA set up Oswald as a patsy in JFK's assassination so LBJ would prevent a withdrawal from Vietnam ... umm, that last part might not actually be in there. (Sorry, I read Oswald's "Raleigh Call" in an Indy Week cover story a few weeks back and now I'm having trouble leaving the house.) Oliver Stone-esque conspiracy theories aside, Sulick's book promises to be a thorough and fascinating look at the secret history of America and the forces behind it over the centuries. He'll read from and sign copies of the book at 7:30 p.m.; for God's sake, don't repeat that JFK joke I made. I was just funning! —Zack Smith
