Mendi & Keith Obadike

When: Tue., Feb. 7, 6 p.m. 2012
Price: Free

There are multimedia artists, and then there are omnimedia artists like Mendi and Keith Obadike. Internet opera, books of poetry, albums, sound installations, films ... and "Four Electric Ghosts," an opera-masquerade, which invades UNC's Memorial Hall on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. That show is sold out, so best to cut your losses with their Hanes Visiting Artist Lecture, part of a series in partnership with Carolina Performing Arts and Duke's M.F.A. program in Experimental Documentary Arts. The lecture is also a homecoming of sorts for these unique artists: Keith has a B.A. in art from North Carolina Central and Mendi has a Ph.D. in literature from Duke, among their other degrees. The free talk begins at 6 p.m. —Chris Vitiello
