Re: “Humble Tripe's Counting Stars

This record was a rare bird, a vision that Shawn shared with our friend Mr. Alex Nathan. Who passed on May 11, 2009.

Alex was very, very passionate about the recording being pressed. He could see it, hear it and even helped to name a song on Counting Stars. For me and all of us the only thing we could offer Alex at the end of his life wasmusic.

If you lift, the CD out of the case there is a small photo of Alex in a collection of photos. It defines just how important it was for him to see Shawn make this record.

I hope you will take some time and go see Humble Tripe, stream a song or just remember Alex for a moment. With each of these songs, it is hard to forget him.

Thank you Shawn, Jess, Kadji, Stud and Mel for making music, for allowing Alex to push along side of you and for letting us be a part of it.

Alex hitched his wagon to one of those stars up there, I am sure of that.

Counting Stars was the last record we pressed in 2009; the national release date is 3/23/2010. Humble Tripe's pre-sale is up on our website

Thank you for all of the support!!!

Re: “The Year in Music 2009

Eric-you in a band?

If so please post, can not wait to go to your next show.

Agnes is a great person who adds to this community as do many of us. F-ing metal is funny but not when it looks like she is wearing it like a flag.

Again Eric what band do you play in?

Mel T.

p.s. Indy the button would have looked better on Brad Cook.

Re: “Birds & Arrows' Woodgrain Heart

Hey, Thanks for reviewing Woodgrain Heart. I saw them on Friday night at BCHQ and they were amazing. I can't stop listening to this record. Mt~

Re: “Thou anointeth my head with oil!

Hi, I agree with Shannon you have to hang in there...longevity. There is no one moment it is many. Yes there are exceptions; we don't need to get fundamental here. We check the Indy weekly for what is happening (local art, music, etc.). It has never occurred to us to grab the N&O for that. We stopped contacting the N&O for press a while ago bc we found other outlets that were easier to communicate with. Maybe it is time to put them back on our radar for that special moment in time?. Thanks to Grayson for showing up at shows, cd releases and festivals.
