Mean Girls

When: Fri., Jan. 18, 11:59 p.m. 2013
Price: Free

Although it's only nine years old, Mean Girls seems like it was made long ago, back in a distant, damn near unrecognizable time when Lindsay Lohan was a valuable commodity and not a punch line (most recently, and mercilessly, exposed in a New York Times Magazine article). We all had such high hopes for her. The star of those Freaky Friday and The Parent Trap remakes was blossoming into quite the vivacious, curvaceous redhead, and this 2004 Tina Fey-penned comedy, where she plays a home-schooled teen who goes to high school and infiltrates a bitchy clique (including future starlets Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried), showed off her, um, talents. Seeing this film on the big screen is a chance to remember how promising Lohan once was. The free screening starts at 11:59 p.m. —Craig D. Lindsey
