Matt & Kim, Hood Internet

When: Thu., June 2, 9 p.m. 2011

In many ways, Matt Johnson and Kim Schifino are the archetype of millennial indie pop: They've released music through a corporate sponsor (Mountain Dew's Green Label Sound) and shown a knack for attention-grabbing videos that spread like the flu. They've stripped naked in Times Square for "Lessons Learned" and beaten the shit out of each other for "Cameras." But to this duo, whose beat-centric pop is as entirely immediate as any Buzzfeed gem, the hype baiting is a natural fit. They're only slightly less Web-dependent than their tourmates, mashup maestros the Hood Internet. Hyperlinks won't get you in tonight; the 9 p.m. show is sold out, so good luck at the door. —Bryan Reed
