Matisyahu, Dirty Heads, Moon Taxi

When: Sat., Aug. 18, 7 p.m. 2012
Price: $29-33

Late last year, Matthew Miller, better known as Matisyahu, got a haircut, shaved his beard and stopped rocking a big black hat, shocking some fans and those within the Jewish community who had embraced the Hasidic rocker, rapper and reggae fusionist. With that change of face comes a slight sonic shift as well; his concerts, which are like Deadhead shows gone cosmopolitan, are about to get gauche. On his latest, Spark Seeker, Matisyahu's working with Kool Kojak, producer of fawning pop hits for Flo Rida and Ke$ha, giving the newly beardless bro some big brash beats to toast over. The Dirty Heads and Moon Taxi open this outdoor show at 7 p.m. —Brandon Soderberg
