Matchbox Twenty's North sounds familiar enough, thanks mostly to frontman Rob Thomas' immediately recognizable and husky voice. But the album's lack of popular staying power, even for its singles, proves that a guest spot on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is Thomas' most memorable move of the last decade. (At this point, he may have been upstaged by the other Rob Thomas, ringleader of the recent Veronica Mars Kickstarter movie sensation.)
