Mary Lambeth Moore & Linda Hanley Finigan

When: Thu., Feb. 24, 7 p.m. 2011

Local writers Mary Lambeth Moore and Linda Hanley Finigan both have new books out that are set in the 1970s. In Moore's Sleeping With Patty Hearst, Lily Stokes is searching for a missing family member during the time of the high-profile Hearst case. Finigan's Love and War, which traces the initially separate but eventually intersected lives of two young people, is set amid two boomer-generation touchstones: Kennedy's inauguration and the Vietnam War. Both authors have long ties to the area: Moore used to edit fiction for the Carolina Wren Press, and Finigan previously worked for WUNC-TV as a newscaster. The event begins at 7 p.m., and both writers will sign copies. —Sarah Ewald
