Re: “Parting Shots: A Column Ends, But the Struggle Continues

I will greatly miss reading the wisdom of Bob Geary in the pages of the Indy. As Jo said, you are the best of the Indy.

Re: “Dorothea Dix park: A done deal for Raleigh? (Updated, as Perdue hits back at Republican critics.)

The cynic in me sees Tillis's statement as actually saying "now, which of you big developers is ready to write me the fattest check?"

Re: “Don't throw that dirt on Brad Miller's casket just yet

Just when things were looking grim for Brad, professional wackjob Vernon Robinson jumps in the race. Thank you, Vernon!!

Big money wins again. I should've known it would.

Actually, no. Oakwood got off easy compared to Lockwood, Longview, and Serendipity Drive.

Re: “In S.E. Raleigh, a generational divide over the next City Councilor

Hey Bob, you're incorrect about no current councilor living in Southeast Raleigh. Mary-Ann Baldwin lives in District C, as she mentioned at yesterday's reception for Dr. West.

As for me, would I like to see a younger generation? Sure! But I want to see some commitment first. How have they become involved in their community, their CAC, their city government? How are they equipped to handle the daunting workload of a city councilor?

Eugene Weeks has proven he cares deeply about Raleigh in general and Southeast Raleigh in particular. He's earned his nod.

Re: “Raleigh City Council: A battle for James West's seat?

Having worked with Eugene Weeks for two years on Raleigh's Parks board I have nothing but good things to say about him. He gets things done. I have no doubt that he will make an outstanding District C councilor.
