Re: “The Dix disaster

WHO got walloped?!??!
What a BLIND "Unaffiliated" person!!!!
So Blind.

A WALLOP is what happened to the GOPers in 2008!

No comparison.
Just more GOPer wishful thinking (a la Dr. Joseph Goebbles -- Tell the same lie often enough and it becomes the truth.) here.

Now.... I KNOW unaffiliated....I _am_ unaffiliated!
This other "thing" does not sound at all unaffiliated. It's typical -- those (even claiming to be un-affiliated) who are so FAR RIGHT that they are falling off the edge of the Milky Way can easily use "Lefty. Lefty." all they want -- for even Adolf Hitler are to the left of them!

Unaffiliated can go back to watching Fox News! (Hmmm.... not being one of the traditional "Big-Three" (NBC, CBS, ABC) I guess "Unaffiliated" thinks Fox is an "unaffiliated" network.)

Re: “The Dix disaster

Here I have read so many words to say what is so plain and clear. It is simple:
GOPers (Republicans) are Crooks and Liars! Top to Bottom.
(And even the "Top" are Bottom-feeding Dregs.)

Re: “In its bigotry, North Carolina makes Jesse Helms proud—again

To the moon of Jupiter:

"mouthpieces who agitate for enforcement of pseudo moralistic legislation that the majority clearly does not want"

No. Amendment One is about mouthpieces agitating for legislation. I don't recall any pro-active legislation from the "other side" being on the ballot.

Surely this is one of the objections Mr Benz would also bring against "your" opinion.

Please return to your moon... and remain...

Re: “Re: Best of the Triangle; Amendment 1

Tim Dugan is an ultimately confused individual who can not analyse the world around him.

He speaks as if "Amendment One" were NOT to have passed then a whole bunch of things would have happened -- opening the gates of Hell.

This is totally illogical! Things would have continued as they were.

The passing of the amendment has brought a change! Oppression from bigots.

His logic of "a majority of North Carolina's voters" not being bigots because they are the majority is flawed. A majority can obviously be bigoted.

This is the level of intelligence (or lack thereof) that can only be brought to an argument by someone who believes he gets to stand in for God and bring his (Tim's) judgement upon all the World.

I (in my prejudiced way) fell that people lacking the power of reasoning logically should be barred from the political process... and from having their "opinions" (given to them from elsewhere) printed and/or posted for the world to see -- It can only be an embarrassment for such people as TIm for the Indy (and others) to put his lack of mind on exhibit; such people should be spared this public shame. (I'm only thinking of his own good...)

Re: “In its bigotry, North Carolina makes Jesse Helms proud—again

"It's free for a reason..."
Yes... That reason would be called ADVERTISING!!!!
It is NOT a newspaper, really, as such. It is a weekly Feature Article vehicle. It is (with it's absorption of The Spectator) the only place in the RTP-area to find a concise, (mostly) comprehensive guide to local Arts and Entertainment. It is MUCH Needed... and MUCH Appreciated... for such.

Venues PAY for Advertising in The INDY to promote their businesses. (So let's not haul out your next argument (I can just hear it in you little "brain"): commies, socialists...)

Call it a rag if you like. I'd like to see what _YOU_ could manage to write... much less publish.

(Non-free newspapers _could_ be free. The Advertising completely covers their production costs. The are sold for money due to (not just to make profit) but because people don't take newspapers seriously if they are free. But they'll take free Internet "news" seriously... [scratches head].)
