Mark Meadows and Somethin' Good

When: Fri., Aug. 28, 8 & 10 p.m. 2015
Price: $10
Jazz pianist and composer Mark Meadows is hot. Washington’s City Paper recently named him both “artist of the year“ and “composer of the year.” And while magazine plaudits don’t always mean much, Meadows’ tunes do. His ensemble has a taut moodiness—think Miles Smiles more than Kind of Blue. Celebrating the release of their second album together, Meadows and Somethin’ Good play two sets. —Chris Vitiello
