Marissa Meyer

When: Fri., Jan. 6, 7 p.m. 2012

We haven't had a chance to read author Marissa Meyer's new young adult science fiction novel Cinder. However, we can tell you that the cover looks exactly like Twilight, the publisher is hyping it as a potential next Hunger Games, and it combines the current YA trends of dark updated fairy tales and dystopian futures. The title character is a cyborg on the moon in an Asian-dominated future (yeah, that's pretty much inevitable right now) who will come to be the savior of our planet—and possibly get the prince to boot. This has gotten some good reviews, but we're a little gun-shy here, people. Find out for yourself at this 7 p.m. reading. —Zack Smith
