Margaret Cho

When: Fri., Nov. 19, 8 p.m. 2010
Price: $37

One of the great badass comedians of the 1990s, Margaret Cho has refined her act over the past decade to include lacerating looks at America, sexuality and herself. A heroine of the LGBT community, she's ruthless about everything from her Korean heritage to her experiences with ABC on the failed sitcom All American Girl. She also raps, has had fashion lines, and does burlesque. Currently, she's a regular on the Lifetime series Drop Dead Diva, though her standup act will likely cause fans of that show who are unfamiliar with her other work to have heart attacks. The Comedy Theatre of Durham and DSI Comedy Theater present Cho's latest act, which includes songs from her album Cho Dependent, at 8 p.m. —Zack Smith
