Mantrap | NC Museum of Art | Special Events | Indy Week
This is a past event.
When: Fri., March 4, 8 p.m. 2011
Price: $5 ($3.50 for students)

Spend an evening with the original It Girl when Clara Bow takes the screen in 1926's Mantrap. Victor Fleming (Gone With the Wind, The Wizard of Oz) helmed this silent number about a backwoods manicurist (Bow) who, despite already being married, hits it off with a big-city divorce lawyer; wackiness ensues. Bow and Fleming also got on quite well, getting engaged after the production wrapped. The film is paired with the short Dog Shy with Charley Chase; both feature live music by pianist David Drazin. Tickets for the 8 p.m. show are $5, or $3.50 for members of the museum, Cinema Inc. or Galaxy Cinema. Independent contributor Laura Boyes curates the series. —Zack Smith
