Maji Moto: Dispatches from a Drought

When: April 12-June 30 2012

Photographer and writer Courtney Fitzpatrick spent 17 months in Kenya's Amboseli basin in 2009–10, living through a devastating drought. That experience inspired this photo exhibit as well as fine press book with Dave Wofford of Horse & Buggy Press. Fitzpatrick has written several lyrical essays about her time in the fragile and beautiful landscape of Maji Moto, witnessing the struggles of the people and wildlife to survive. Her training as both an artist and a biologist informs her work. Limited edition giclee/ letterpress broadsides, as well as the book, will be for sale at a free Third Friday reception June 15 from 6–9 p.m. —Chris Vitiello
