In the "why didn't I think of that?" category, a group of young, professional Chapel Hill/ Durham women have formed a league, but not just any league. These ladies arm wrestle, and they'll be strutting their stuff and flexing their biceps in their inaugural charity event.

According to "Knuck if you Buckeye" (aka Emily Williams), a representative of the League of Upper Extremity Wrestling Women (that's LUEWWD), the idea for the league came to the six friends during a "marinated-in-bourbon" dinner table conversation.

So how do you prepare for an arm-wrestling contest? "I think each contestant is going about preparing for the big night in her own way," said Williams. "Some are putting more emphasis on their costumes, some are putting more effort into their entourage, music selection and grand entrance, and hopefully some are hitting the gym and practicing!"

Eight contestants will go arm to arm, and proceeds go to the Durham Crisis Response Center. Williams promises an entertaining evening, which will include awards for best costumes. "I've only actually seen one costume so far—and it was awesome. I won't say whose it was, but she'll definitely be a contender for Durham Diva, our Best Costume award," Williams said.
