Lowland Hum

When: Sun., Aug. 18, 12 p.m. 2013
Price: Free

As Lowland Hum, Daniel and Lauren Goans present a "multisensory artistic collaboration." Don't stumble on the syllables: This is folk music that insists on broader engagement. Not content with the typical concert experience, the Goans have crafted a stage show that includes visual art, handmade lyric booklets and aromas. But the music stands on its own, with guitar, piano and shuffling drums anchoring melodies that move powerful boy-girl harmonies. Their debut, Native Air, just came out last week. —Ashley Melzer
