Love and Other Drugs

When: Wed., Nov. 24 2010

Area Theaters—It's the day before Thanksgiving, and the annual holiday movie season is here. If you still get your Hollywood news via snail mail, and thus subscribe to Entertainment Weekly, you might have spotted Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway in a sexy naked embrace on its cover. This tale of a drug pusher (of the Big Pharma kind) and his hot lady who has Parkinson's is supposed to have lots of sexy naked parts with its buffed and toned Hollywood actors, but early reviews have been flaccid. Other drugs available for the masses today include Faster, in which Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson gives thanks with his big gun, Burlesque, a Cabaret-esque musical with the intriguing cast of Cher, Christina Aguilera and the inevitable Alan Cumming, and Tangled, a Disney update of the Rapunzel fairy tale. Read our reviews of Tangled and Burlesque, as well as Last Train Home, which opens Friday at the Chelsea in Chapel Hill. See film times for all local theaters. —David Fellerath
