Drama, Suspense/Thriller

With this story of a man (Inception's Tom Hardy) whose world gradually falls apart in front of our eyes, an exciting new director cements his place on the cinema scene. Steven Knight, directing his second feature film after the mostly forgotten Jason Statham actioner Redemption, manages to captivate despite taking place almost entirely inside a car. While the camera moves around the driver's seat, Locke's career and marriage disintegrate as he comes to turns with a rash one-night-stand he had seven months ago, the results of which is the journey we witness. This is another impressive turn by Hardy in a short career full of them, and the film is a strong contender for year-end awards.
