Local Band, Local Beer: The Color Exchange, Happy Abandon, Barren Graves

When: Thu., June 18, 9:30 p.m. 2015
Price: free
Chapel Hill’s The Color Exchange say they aim to “to create a refined and layered alternative indie rock sound.” The phrase “alternative indie” notwithstanding, they live up to their goal with stately piano-pop melodies and gossamer guitar tones, all buttressing anthemic choruses. This Local Band Local Beer showcase also features the restless rock of Happy Abandon and the ominous slacker atmospheres of Durham’s Barren Graves. —Jordan Lawrence
