Local Band, Local Beer: Dad & Dad, Must Be The Holy Ghost, Bare The Traveler

When: Thu., April 9, 9:30 p.m. 2015
Price: free
Start with some songs and end in abstraction: That seems to be the theme of this three-band bill. The night begins with Greensboro’s Bare the Traveler, whose coarse mix of folk and punk kind of recalls The Avett Brothers on an Elton John and Bad Religion bender. In the middle, Must Be the Holy Ghost welds grand ’80s pop hooks to beats that suggest a neon kaleidoscope. Carrboro’s irrepressible Dad & Dad, who pile keyboards and other joyful noises into perfect fragments of grand pop songs, headline. —Grayson Haver Currin
