Little Wings, Weyes Blood, Daniel Bachman Boogie Band

When: Thu., Sept. 17, 9 p.m. 2015
Price: $10
California songwriter Kyle Field has long been the only constant element of Little Wings, a loose band he formed in the late ’90s. He’s released a dozen records under that name since 2000, many of them on Seattle’s iconic K Records. Field’s folk songs have a DIY looseness, while his voice has a Calvin Johnson creakiness that makes sense of his label association. The new Explains is an odd mix of the carefully lush and the casually profane. Opener Natalie Mering, the singer-songwriter otherwise known as Weyes Blood, provides strong support with her quiet, disquieting modern pastoral psychedelia. —Jeff Klingman
