"Feed me, Seymour!" It's one of those references you probably recognize even if you don't know where it comes from. But you'll never forget it after you see Raleigh Little Theatre's production of Little Shop of Horrors, the musical based on Roger Corman's cult movie about a nebbishy florist who accidentally grows a man-eating, doo-wop-singing plant-monster and names it Audrey II after his unrequited crush. "In our age of instant gratification coupled with rampant consumerism, the play reminds us that there is a huge cost to feeding our unchecked desires," says director Patrick Torres. That sounds like a bit of a stretch. But who needs contemporary relevance from a carnivorous camp classic, anyway? —Brian Howe
