Lincoln Theatre 10th Anniversary with Far Too Jones, Runaway Cab, Lauren Nicole

When: Sat., Feb. 5, 7:45 p.m. 2011
Price: $12-15

For the last decade, Lincoln Theatre has provided Raleigh with the medium-size rock club it had long lacked. When the club added a balcony several years ago, expanding to a capacity of 800, it gave the Triangle the sort of large room that, Disco Rodeo excepted, it had never had. That size, combined with its steady diet of tribute acts and jam bands and its ability to throw a good street party, has made it a steady fan favorite, countering the region's indie rock alliances with major closer-to-mainstream attractions. Tonight, the Lincoln turns 10 with Far Too Jones, a Raleigh band that almost made it to the mainstream in the late '90s thanks to a pair of melodramatic, melodic rock numbers called "Best of Me" and "As Good As You." Runaway Cab and Lauren Nicole open the show, which is sold out.—Grayson Currin
