Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival

When: Sat., Aug. 25, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. 2012
Price: Free

It's time again for Cary's highly anticipated Lazy Daze. Canceled last year because of a valid fear that Hurricane Irene would send tents tumbling down Academy Street, the festival is sure to be well attended in its return. It's a wonderful way to learn about and support local artists, performers and businesses. The festival runs 9 a.m.–5 p.m., but come early to find street parking and beat the crowds. There's a free shuttle bus from Cary Towne Center. Bring the kids, but leave the dogs and ferrets at home—there's a fun Kids World, but no Pet World.—Christina Cass
