Larry the Cable Guy, Bill Engvall, Reno Collier

When: Sat., April 13, 5 & 8 p.m. 2013
Price: $50

From 2000 to 2006, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy made up half of the ridiculously popular Blue Collar Comedy Tour, a rolling night of standup with fellow comics Jeff Foxworthy and Ron White. The tour spun off a series of successful comedy films, DVDs, television shows and even a "Next Generation" tour of comics whose appeal lies squarely in the flyover states. It's easy to dismiss the Blue Collar style as redneck clowning, but anyone who's seen these guys actually perform can tell you: This is weapons-grade standup deployed by comedy professionals who know how to work the larger rooms of the theater circuit. Larry's redneck Southern drawl, by the way, is a complete invention—dude went to University of Nebraska. It's all showbiz. Reno Collier opens. —Glenn McDonald
