Lake, Ser Onda

When: Wed., Oct. 9, 9 p.m. 2013
Price: $7
It's not often that a band claims its music comes "straight from the playbook of the good parts of Billy Joel, Fleetwood Mac and Turkish psychedelic music." Cue Lake, of Olympia, Wash. This strangely sourced indie pop collective keeps busy: Their latest on K Records, The World is Real, is their second release of 2013 and seventh since 2006. Opener Ser Onda features Autumn Ehinger, once of Cassis Orange and now a touring member of The Love Language. —Ashley Melzer
