Baba Chuck Davis will host the 27th annual KwanzaaFest celebration at the Durham Armory. The lineup of guests includes American Idol finalist Vernon Futrell, Richmond's Ezibu Muntu African Dance, local heroes Stafford Berry and Kemal Nance, and Elite Dance of Durham. There's face painting for the kids and food from Vegan Flava Café and The Palace International. Admission's free, but to support the region's homeless veterans, canned and boxed goods, toiletry items and contributions for Durham's CAARE, which will be conducting health screenings during the event, will be collected. —Byron Woods
