KwanzaaFest with African American Dance Ensemble

When: Tue., Jan. 1 2013

Don't expect Baba Chuck Davis to get too wild and crazy during his company's performances the night before at First Night Raleigh—they've got a show this afternoon at 2 p.m., too. This year's edition of the company's annual Kwanzaa observance includes food and fruit vendors, poetry and the AADE's master drum orchestra and dance. With Baba Chuck, the musicians and dancers invoke an undeniable sense of community. What better way to celebrate the last day of Kwanzaa—and the first day of a new year? For info, see —Byron Woods
