King Khan & the Tandoori Knights, Bloodshot Bill, Piedmontsmen

When: Wed., Nov. 16, 9 p.m. 2011
Price: $9-11

Unfortunately for his fans lately, King Khan has made more noise off the stage than on it, in light of a drug bust and a very public falling-out with former collaborator Mark Sultan. However, the release of a new EP might mean Khan is ready to get back to doing what he does best—that being, of course, infusing his reverential brand of garage-soul music with unrelenting and manic charisma that's one part James Brown, one part Screaming Jay Hawkins and totally undeniable. With Bloodshot Bill and the Piedmontsmen. —David Raposa
