KIFF, The T's, Alien8, Blister, Street Clones, Raw Dog

When: Sat., Aug. 22, 7:30 p.m. 2015
Price: $5-$7
Raleigh shock-rock troupe KIFF celebrate their tenth anniversary at the top of a six-band bill. Inspired by cult-rock icons like Alice Cooper and the Plasmatics, KIFF’s spartan riffs and heavy distortion suggest ’70s arena rock standing on a canvas of ‘80s punk. Songs like “Fistful of Brains” suggest the Misfits, while “Do You Want to See A Dragon?” splits the difference between Antiseen and Kiss. The bill they’ve assembled to celebrate their decennium serves as a perfect complement. The T’s offer retro boogie rock, while Alien8 hews closer to metal. Blister and Street Clones stick close to a street punk template, while Raw Dog goes for irreverent shock. —Bryan C. Reed
