KIDZU CHILDREN'S MUSEUM REOPENING

UNIVERSITY MALL, CHAPEL HILL

SATURDAY, APRIL 11

Like the Southern weed that its name is a play on, the Kidzu Children's Museum is spreading. Once fun but relatively small, the museum is opening its new Launch Pad after being closed for a couple of months. More than 250,000 visitors have already passed through Kidzu, and that number is sure to grow with a new interactive exhibit space focusing on the arts, STEM disciplines, child health and wellness, and literacy. In addition to spiffed-up old favorites, new exhibits such as a large climbing wall and the Tarheel Treehouse are sure to provide kids with fun ways to expend some energy while learning. Members get a special sneak peek on Friday at 6 p.m. before the Saturday ribbon-cutting opens the doors for everyone. 10 a.m.–5 p.m., $5.50 (free for members and infants 11 months and under), 201 S. Estes Dr.,
