KELLY HOLLAND MEMORIAL BENEFIT

LINCOLN THEATRE, RALEIGH | SUNDAY, MARCH 22

Kelly Holland died in February 2014 after battling an abdominal infection, leaving behind his children and longtime friends and admirers within the Triangle music community. As with last year's quickly assembled tribute, the latter will support the former, as proceeds go to Holland's daughter, Alexa Fisher. Like Cry of Love—the almost-famous Raleigh outfit Holland fronted with his trademark wail—the bill leans heavily on bluesy Southern rock. Heavy alt-rockers Automatic Slim and alt-country rebels The Backsliders remain standouts of Raleigh's mid-'90s scene, while the twisted rockabilly of Saint Luke's Drifters and twangy bar brawn of Hank Sinatra represent the current concerns of longtime local vets. Area Lynyrd Skynrd imitators Tuesday's Gone, variety act Crush (which once featured Holland on vocals and drums) and singer-songwriters Jan Fields and Travis Moss open. 5:30 p.m., $10, 126 E. Cabarrus St., Raleigh, 919-821-4111, www.lincolntheatre.com. —Spencer Griffith
