Re: “Our endorsements for the 2014 general election

I followed the Independent's recommendations years ago and voted Del Turner for school board. What a HUGE MISTAKE. I have since attended many school board meetings where she demonstrated utter lack of awareness on important issues. She surfs the web during important debates; she rarely participates. When she does ask a question, it often brings a look from the few attending community members and the board as we ask ourselves what on earth is going on in her mind. She votes along with everyone else.
Since moving to North Carolina, I found very few cases in which I would vote for a Republican; however, the school board should be a non-partisan committee. As an active parent and teacher in Chatham County, I encourage you to PLEASE VOTE FOR MIA MUNN. Mia cares about students. Mia cares about teachers. Mia asks important questions. Mia communicates with community. Mia Munn is the right vote for Chatham County School Board.
