Re: “Live: How a room of Sleater-Kinney fans reacted to THEESatisfaction

I just saw this duo in LA (5-1-15) open for SK. I've adored SK since the mid-90's but their taste in opening acts can be soooo trying. I staked out my place on the floor and couldn't leave to use the bathroom etc. - waiting almost 3 hours for SK - so one just must endure the opening acts. Ian Rubbish (Fred Armison) was funny and brief. But this duo played a long set. After one song, their schtick was clear... hardly a differentiation from song to song.. lyrically their rhymes were not that interesting, rhythmically generic samples... yes they moved well but I'm still pissed off at the assaultive sound levels of the bass - my ears are still hurting this morning from it AND I have ear plugs for protection. JUST AWFUL. I rarely don't clap ... even for mediocre bands but this was way way too boring.
