Juan Wauters, Lonnie Walker

When: Wed., Feb. 18, 9:30 p.m. 2015
Price: $7
Fans of lo-fi shufflers The Beets will recognize Juan Wauters from his tenure as the frontman of that band, but Wauters went solo last year with N.A.P North American Poetry. That album possesses some of The Beets’ jangle, but it is more upbeat and fun, with occasional bouts of silliness. Its loose, ambling charm makes you ache for the lazy, long afternoons of summer. He’ll be a perfect late-winter pick-me-up. Lonnie Walker opens as a not-quite-full band, assisted by a drum machine. —Allison Hussey
