Re: “Thinking of Going to the Reopened CafĂ© Helios in Raleigh? About That...

I don't understand that when the writer was asked for his feedback, he chose to withhold it, and instead wrote a mean-spirited review. I went to the re-opened Helios, had a great omelette, and appreciated that as a new establishment, they were looking for feedback. Perhaps I have insufficient taste-buds to discern that the coffee was swill, as the reviewer suggests it seemed fine to me. I did have a critique; I thought the omelette should include toast, and both the manager and the owner took my suggestion to heart, and they are adding it to the omelette.

Despite its convenient location near my office, I had stopped going to the old Helios because the service was awful, the food horribly uneven, and the banquettes' vinyl in such disrepair that it had ruined several pairs of my pants and skirts There's charm, and then there is disrepair and disinterest, which is how I classified the old Helios.

I guess the author likes disrepair and disinterest more than people who care.
