Jonathan Parker & The Bel-Airs, The Malpass Brothers

When: Thu., Sept. 25, 8 p.m. 2014
Price: $7-$9
The rough-edged Jonathan Parker smartly titled his debut They’ll Never Play My Songs In Nashville. Parker now celebrates the release of his sophomore follow-up, Long Gone, which finds his deep Johnston County drawl evoking heartache and lending attitude to another fine collection of outlaw country and hardcore honky-tonk tunes. The originals fit perfectly with Parker’s Willie Nelson cover. Expect some cross-pollination with openers The Malpass Brothers, who appear on Long Gone and deliver classic country gold. —Spencer Griffith
