John Legend, Tamar Braxton

When: Thu., Oct. 31, 7:30 p.m. 2013
Price: $51-130
"Who Do We Think We Are" is the first single from John Legend's most recent album, Love in the Future. It coasts along like all of the soul-sparkling, luxe-love avowals from his debut, Get Lifted. But the tune, which features a guest verse from Rick Ross, couldn't climb the charts. Instead, Legend's piano-rendered vow to unconditional love, "All of Me," flourished. It's a number suited more for crossover radio, weddings and Legend's own date nights with his supermodel wife, Chrissy Teigen. Combined with Wake Up!, his soul-covers project with The Roots, these parallel lanes have turned Legend's 10-year career into a swerving R&B road trip. Reality television star and singer Tamar Braxton opens. —Eric Tullis
