Joanna Gruesome, Aye Nako, King of Cats, Museum Mouth (Back Room)

When: Mon., Nov. 2, 8:30 p.m. 2015
Price: $10-$12
You may have tuned out at the band name. If not, young Welsh punks Joanna Gruesome play abrasive, powerful noise pop, summoning images of a 2002-era Mclusky if fronted by Tiger Trap’s Rose Melberg. Unfortunately, this tour comes after the sudden departure of frontwoman Alanna McCardle, who exited the group after this year’s Peanut Butter. In her stead, the band has added two new singers. If you like Black Tambourine or own more than one Los Campesinos! record, you’ll dig this. —David Ford Smith
