Jo Gore & The Alternative

When: Sat., Oct. 19 2013
Price: $8
Vocalist Jo Gore is an eccentric original. Jazz, soul, rock, country, blues and spirituals are all essential pieces of her repertoire, both as an interpreter and as a songwriter with partner Bo Lankenau. Her musical wanderings reflect her journey from rural Columbus County (where she grew up singing in her father's church) to the Triangle's eclectic scene. Joined by Lankenau on acoustic guitar, Geoff Hathaway on bass, Bakru Hunsel on drums and Weldon Kollock on trombone, the diva-in-a-vintage-dress will air a steamer trunk full of new songs at thie show. —Sylvia Pfeiffenberger
